Engine oil pressure warning light

I have the warning light on the dash always on until I start the engine, then it immediately goes out. The oil pressure gauge shows good oil pressure. Any ideas?
Also anyone know what the middle switch above the stop/start lever does.

The oil pressure light is on when the engine is not running because there is no oil pressure when the engine is not running, sounds like it is doing what it is meant to do, as for the switch someone else will have to weigh in on that.

Sorry my issue is that the light stays on even when I turn the ignition off and remove the key, thus draining the battery if the tractor is not used for long periods of time. Thanks for your reply

Sorry I misunderstood the warning light must be wired to a live source of power instead of being wired to the ignition switch, if this is something that has been working properly and all of a sudden this started then it has me baffled but I'm sure someone out there will have an answer. Have you or anyone been working on the wiring?
