Kubota B7100D
We just bought a 1985 Kubota B7100D and don't know how to engage and disengage the front or rear pto. Anyone able to assist?

I have the smaller B5100D - it has an electric front PTO. To engage/disengage there is a toggle switch installed beneath and to the right of the steering wheel. Rear PTO is 2 speed & operated by the lever just to the left of the main shift lever. I think forward is slow, centered is neutral and back is fast. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info... my hubby says that ours isn't electric. There's no toggle switch, but we do have a lever... 3 speed control on the left by the transmission, but neutral doesn't disengage the pto. I wonder if it's just not working right. yesterday we had our first snowfall and hubby tried using the blower. It went well till he gouged it into the earth and stalled the tractor after clogging the spout with dirt and rocks and almost burning the belts (his words... I have no idea what he's talking about!). He's frustrated. I wish we'd learned how to use it before our neighbour passed away, but you never think that'll happen and expect life to just go on...

The lever should select the proper PTO speed, (Don't over speed the snow blower)... Neutral should stop the PTO. Also that should have a 2 stage clutch, when you push the clutch down, the first stage clutch should stop the tractor, then as you continue the second stage will be at the bottom of the clutch petal travel... that should stop the PTO... Thanks, KennyV... we'll let you know if that solves the problem the next time it snows!

I do not think a B7100D has a 2 stage clutch. However just pushing down on the clutch should stop the snow blower if it is on the 3 point hitch. Is the snow blower on the front or the back of the tractor? If you have a front mounted snow blower it may run independent of the foot clutch & pto lever that is down on the left side of the transmission housing. If the blower is on the front and the regular foot clutch does not disengage the snowblower and you are sure there is not an electric clutch on the front of the engine crankshaft it must have some other method of disconnecting the power of the pto to the snowblower. Take some pictures of the tractor and the snowblower. Get good close ups of how and where the pto shat from the snowblower goes to the tractor. Post them here and I am sure we can help.
