Emissions Light missing on 2010 Mahindra 6530

Hello,

I purchased a Mahindra 6530 4WD with FEL in Nov. 2010. I've noticed that this tractor doesn't have the emissions warning light on the right side of the dash even though the owner's manual indicates there would be one and makes reference to it in the Troubleshooting section. There's just a rubber plug in it's place on the dash.

Anyone have any idea why this would have been omitted by the factory?

I believe they moved the light into the dash panel. Should be a ! in a circle. The manual could not be the newest version.

That makes sense; hadn't thought of that. I'll check it out later today.

Well, I checked the lights on the dash and instrument panel and there's no "!" on either. I compared the online operator's manual for the 6530 against the manual I have from when I purchased the tractor and the online version is an old copy. However, it does show the dash of the 6530 without the emissions light; my tractor's instrument cluster is different from the online version though in sync with the hardcopy manual I have. Mine has the L-R turn signals as a single icon and the water in fuel indicator.

I'm thinking that my tractor not having the emissions warning light is probably due to changes made during the production year. I purchased this tractor the day before Thanksgiving in 2010. You'd think by that time all features for that year would be present and up to date. The dealer had just got this tractor in as part of a new shipment from Mahindra.

Who knows?

The only things I can offer is that tractor years and calendar years are seldom if ever concurrent. And clearly your manual isn't in sync with your tractor's serial number.
