My junk filter has been separating Linkedin emails vaguely stating that I have been searched x amount of times of late. LOL, I never knew that I was that popular? Oh Oh, they could be bill collectors?

Seems like there will not be to much junk email or junk phone calls then there will be a lot. The junk emails seem to go with the same theme from several sources?

If you would subscribe $ to the premium package, you could know who those "searchers" really were.

The ones that search on me are all from IBM Boeing, Intel, and the like. But I don't know how I know this. ;-)_

I sometimes receive several of those LinkedIn scam emails per day. They all tell me how many searches I’ve been in this week, but they each give a different number! It seems like they could at least get their story straight.

In the last couple months I've received four email supposedly from my Visa account. It says that due to some type of glitch my email account with Visa will be closed. They want me to register with new user name and password. The only way this bogus email is any different than the real thing(visually)- none of the links in the bogus email work. I can just imagine the field day somebody would have if I did go to this site and register with an new user name and password.

Many years ago my Visa account was somehow compromised. I did get a phone call from Visa - asking if I made a $750 dollar purchase of women's clothing - in Pennsylvania. Some merchant in PA got screwed out of a $750 sale that day. For that matter - they may have lost the clothing along with the money.

I received a $90 charge last year for a gift card to Macy's. I had been down to visit my parents that day and somehow they got my card #. The store ended up eating it because they didn't check for the security code. They only used the card once, and never tried again. My card had never left my possession yet somehow they got it.
What peeved me is that each night that I use my card I check my account online for that very reason, but after driving 400 miles that day I was too beat to pick up on it.

On top of the normal daily Linkedin emails, I received a couple of Wells Fargo emails at work. I send them the Cybersecurity team, both have been malicious. We get trained at least annually on recognizing email and phone scams..

Got one of those credit card robo calls last night; I answered it and pressed "one" for a representative. He answered and started his routine; I started breathing really hard into the phone, and said "You know what I'm doing?" He answered, in his East Indian (or some such) accent... "You getta broe chob?" He hung up soon as I started to reply.

Being in the info security field I can say for sure.... if it's unexpected it has a good chance of being a scam. Skepticism is an excellent tool.
