Pricing new Kubotas and one of the things i am getting is the up-sale on how one or two dealers are Elite Kubota dealers while the others in area are not. And to be Honest it's kind of frustrating, yes i want great service after the sale, but do i want to sink another grand or two (in my case $5G) into the machine up front just because they say well our price is including that we stay better up to date/trained on kubotas equipment:confused:.......Whats the Difference in an elite vs. dealer.......one of my local dealers is not elite but sells as many or more tractors lawn mowers rtvs and backhoes to every municipality around....

Also don't you just love it when a dealer says he will match the other guys price but he only has one unit available at that price.....and no he is not an elite dealer....

I would expect that any dealer can service your new tractor that you bought from them. Do the Elite dealers offer different tangible things? Like maybe free pick-up and delivery for service? I'm really not sure why or how they could charge more unless you are receiving a benefit of some type. Better trained technicians is not a benefit, as all of their techs should be able to service the equipment.

I would pick the dealer that gives you a reasonable price and gives you confidence in their ability to service the product too. Keep in mind most of the final assembly is done at the dealer.

I would never pay one dealer 5k more for the same tractor than another dealer. They can stuff it and I'll save my hard earned 5k.

I don't really know anything about this, but since it's the internet, I'll make a guess. An Elite dealer probably has a higher sales volume than a non-elite dealer. Great for Kubota, doesn't mean much for the buyer. I doubt that Kubota would say that any of their authorized dealers has a less qualified service department than another (even if it's true).

I am not that shy to ask. "Hey, elite dealer, what makes you special?" "Hey, regular dealer, why are you not an elite dealer?"

Hey thanks, that's my thoughts and questions exactly!!!! and that's why i am asking you guys, Not one of the "Elite" dealers that i am speaking to can give me the same answer.....Other than they are better trained....and as for the free delivery and pickup...forget it...they want a $110 bucks just to deliver a new tractor 25 miles or so.....I even had one tell me that they put $800 worth of more expensive tires on the tractor i am looking at....and they could take them off and adjust the price lower:confused:....however their tires are the same as everybody else i have priced lol.....
I am not new to tractors and not new to doing the dance but sometimes this stuff gets ridiculous......(mines better then theirs nana..nana...na..na.....)

I always though dealers, or ads, that offer this were scumbags.

They're saying "We try to charge you as much as we can and won't offer you our best price, but will if you take the time and effort to prove we might lose the sale to a better competitor, and then we'll lower the price just enough to steal it from them."

To me this is ....I don't know....unethical? Cowardly? Weasel-ly? Man up, give me your best offer and stick to your word.

Here is Kubota take on the Premier and Elite dealers. Sounds like smoke and mirrors to me.

Retailers do this also. Reason is there business model may be different, focus on their profits in a different way. They may sell implements for a lot less but make the money on the tractors or vice versa. So if they are going to lose a customer because the customer is solely focusing on the price of the tractor and not other savings they may be able to match the price but maybe you won't get the deal on an implement. The dealer that sells there tractors at lower costs might sell other stuff at higher costs. It all depends on the business model, and they may be able to be flexible.

I don't think I would ever pay for this - buying a Kubota for a reason and that's to not need the dealership. I have bought 4 new ones in the last 7 years and haven't needed the dealer once - my property is in the mountains and don't have time to get to the dealer so I purchased Kubotas for their reliability.

IF I was to pay for something like this I would I would make sure it's in the contract that you are a "Premier" dealer for X amount of years or I get a predetermined amount of $$ back!
