I'm having an issue with battery drain on my 2007 CK30HST purchased a couple of weeks ago -- the battery will drain down in a couple of hours when not in use.

Using a test lamp I've been able to find one connector which, when disconnected, stops the drainage current. This connector is the middle one in a row of three all mounted side by side under the left side floor, and has two fairly large (~10ga) conductors. Disconnecting it also prevents anything from lighting up when I turn the key on.

None of the fuses stop the drain when I pull them, and both wires coming out of this connector disappear immediately into the wiring harness loom. I'm at a loss as to where to go from here to try to trace this and was wondering if someone with access to a shop manual and/or schematics would be kind enough to try to identify this connector so I can do some more diagnosis. Thanks!

Your wiring issue could be several things. Is this an ongoing problem or has it just arrived? Did you wash it or have you sat it outside in rain? I have found a switch or two that is not completely sealed or better yet just pesky water causing a switch to stay hot and draining the battery. Call if you need help!

When mine went out it would kill the battery dead and fast. Your GP system is fed by the 10 gauge wire. The relay in question is on the firewall and mostly toward the dside of the firewall. You can unplug it to disengage the draw and then plug it in as needed until you replace the relay. Pretty cheap but be warned that the replacement might not look like the old one.

My experience was with a 2005 CK30 which I hope is pretty much the same. Either way, the only device I know of other than the starter on a diesel tractor that needs 10 gauge wire is the GP system.

Tony, thank you for the wiring diagrams -- that's definitely above and beyond what I expected from posting this!

Highbeam, looks like you're spot on about the glow plug relay. For whatever reason I skipped those initially when checking with the test lamp and forgot to come back to them. I just got back from checking it after reading your post and unplugging that relay did the trick.

Many thanks to both of you for the help!
