2005 New Holland TC30
Just recently I have been having trouble keeping my TC30 running, first of all my battery has been going dead and i think it is due to a short somewhere. To temporarily fix the problem I put a disconnect on the negative side of battery until I have time to find short. Charged battery up and tractor started and I shredded for about 3 hours before tractor died, it would not restart until I charged battery up. After charging battery I ran tractor for about 3 hours again and it again died. Battery is about 7 years old so I replaced it, tractor ran for about 2 hours and died, checked alternator and had to get it rebuilt. Started tractor and check to see if alternator was charging and got 14.6 volt across battery terminals, well, I thought problem was fixed, but tractor only ran for about 45 minutes this time and would not restart. I put battery on charger because it would not jump start and tractor only ran about 30 minutes, took new battery back and got a new on. Tractor started, but I shut it off to hook up things back up, I then tried to restart tractor but it would not turn over, not sure why. To make sure it wasn't a safety switch I checked all of them, all okay. I was able to jump start tractor and got it back to shed, it ran for about 30 minutes and it died, I tried jump starting again but it wouldn't start. Not sure what is going on, I need help.

Update to my problems, Changed out battery cables, checked all switches again, checked fuseable links and tried checking diodes, but not sure if I did that right. All seems to be okay, started tractor and ran for awhile but died. Could not start it so I took Negative cable off and let it sit for about 10 minute, reconnected cable and it started. seem like something had to reset before I could get it started. I ran it about 3 hours no problems. Killed tractor and it would not start, so I did the same thing with negative cable waited 10 minutes and it started. Not sure what if anything is having to reset.

Could your seat safety be deteriorating and occasionally a bounce stresses it just enough to quit then from fooling with it it gets jostled ok again?

What type of fuel shutdown does that tractor use?
Can you see the linkage that shuts down the tractor?
If it's energized to run and going bad it could be over heating and shuting down.
Or the start stop relay(s) could be acting up.

I have seen alternators put out volts but no amps. I have a DC amp clamp meter to check output for that very reason.
