I would like to install an electric winch on my Jinma 284. Any suggestions - it looks like if I installed the winch on the front it would get in the way of the FEL.

You are probably right about clearance with the loader up front. I think the stock nose weights even interfere with the loader(or if not, they are real close). The Jinma 284 electrical system is really not suited for any real large additions. It only has a 25 amp alternator. Whatcha need a winch for anyway? I could see using one to drag out logs where you don't have much room to maneuver the tractor to do the pulling. Any kind of long pull would put a real strain on the battery and that 25 amp alternator would be really stressed making up for that kind of load.

I have to also say, there's probably not enough clearance with a FEL installed. My FEl is an AmerEquip and the front weights have to be removed. Of course I wouldn't want them on there anyhow with the FEL as ballast. My 204 Jinma only has a 15-16 AMP alternator, so recharging would take quite a while after using a winch for any length of time. I have seen posts here in the past about a nearly direct bolt on changeover to a GM 60 AMP alternator. Even if you do create enough clearance the larger alternator, I think, would be a must. Keep us posted on what you come up with. We always love a good project.
