Just my opinion, but for compact and utility tractors the hydro transmission is hard to beat. The PR transmission come into their own in large open areas for field work and are slightly more efficient than the hydro tranny. Where the PR tranny excells is replacing a shuttle shift gear transmission. Most of us by a wide margin are operating utility or smaller sized tractors here and would be best served with the hydro.
For anyone moving a heavy pallet of materials on or off a truck, positioning the phd to drill a posthole, backing in and out while mowing at higher engine speeds the hydro is superior. Most people who think they prefer a PR transmission for small tractors haven't had a chance to get used to a e hydro transmission. I have had them all including powershift, non sycronized, sycronized, PR, and the 3 range e hydro now and I ain't going back.
