Economy PTO on my Dad's 5075M John Deer?

Ok my dad is a older man and I'm disabled and can't get up in the seat (yet) to check out the controls. He says there is a mark on the tach that shows where the economy pto should run but that it doesn't have it, as in he can't find out how to make it use the economy PTO. Its a 2 year old tractor he got used with 350 hours on it, has the "syncshuttle plus" transmission.2wd. No manual with the tractor. Can someone out there tell me if it actually has the economy PTO and if so how do you shift it from the normal PTO to the economy mode and back?:confused2:

I don't THINK your dads tractor has it but I'm only 95% sure. My tractor has the same dash with that same marking and economy pto isn't an option on my model. Deere just put the same dash in all their utility tractors to save money and cut down on cost. You can run the tractor at that line in easy stuff, I've done it before, but it's not eco only pto.

If your Dad's tractor has the ePTO feature - you should see 2 yellow knobs on the right rear fender. One will be the short, knurled yellow knob that has been a "standard" PTO switch on JD tractor's for a number of years, now.

That is the "regular" engine rpm (2,150-2,250) 540 pto switch, and is operated by pulling upward on the knob to engage or popping the knob down to disengage the pto.

The ePTO is a taller, 5"-6" yellow handle/switch that slides or rotates 180 degrees to engage. This 540 pto operates at around 1,650rpm on the engine tach.

As some tard has lost the operator's manual. You can call 1-800-522-7448 and order another . Service and parts manuals too if desired.

The 2 speed kit can be installed after the fact so is actually handy that the dash already has the indicator meaning you do not have to replace your dash if you where to opt for the 2 speed at a later date.

If your tractor is equipped with the 540E PTO, you need to shift the PTO into that mode by moving the yellow lever on the right hand console forward from the PTO to the ePTO setting.

If your tractor does NOT have the ePTO feature, your dashboard will still show that mark on the tachometer due to the fact that all 5M`s use the same dashplate.

Checked this out a little further, the 2wd sync plus did not have e pto as an option and it appears that it can not be added to that particular tractor either. It was a feature on M's with 4wd only.
