Kubota L47 soon?
I know that 8ton excavators and above will move these easy but can anyone with practical experience moving these blocks with a tractor chime in? What size tractor have you used and were able to move these? and stack them at least 2 high. Ecology blocks are generally 2x2x6' and approx 3000-4000lbs depending who you ask and how they're built. I'm wondering if I can come close using an L47 either FEL or backhoe. Can get a trailer with a few close to the location that I would need them at.

You'll need a M62 with a lot of ballast to move one of those...

Heck, even large skidders have a tough time moving them.

Usually I see either large backhoes or rotators lifting them.

Not to mention it ain't for the faint of heart if that falls. So you better know what you are doing.

You'll break your tractor before you'll lift them off the trailer.

I’ve done it with my 310. It lifted 2 of them but that was a struggle. It’ll be tough but I suspect the L47 will do it. We’ve also moved them with a 5 ton mini wheel loader. IMG_1053.JPG

Ah, ha - so that's what they are called. I'll settle for my gooey, ten foot railroad ties. Not such a dangerous - potentially damaging situation.

Daughter moved a bunch with their Volvo TLB, it was at it's limits at times, she had to be careful for sure.

I did move one of those a quarter mile with our M59......lifting it off the ground and then carrying it suspended under the FEL bucket with chains. The M59 didn't seem to mind, but I went slow and wouldn't make it a habit. Our JD310 does it better. It has the JD410 bucket option whichgives it twice the lift capacity of the M59. It routinely carries that kind of weight in the bucket. I'd say that a 310 backhoe is the minimum machine for routinely moving that much concrete no matter the shape. Lengths of concrete culvert are also heavy.
Anytime we move that much weight it's with great care.
