Just found a nice used Echo CS670 with 24" bar. Runs great, starts easily, sharp chain looks like it's been used very little. Picked it up for $175.
Does that seem like a good deal? I thought it was.

The only "problem" I've found so far is the guy put Lucas in the oiler and it didn't want to pump out when it was cool in the morning. I opened the oil cap and let it run out for a few hours, then filled tank with stihl B&C oil. Works fine.
Feels torquey.

Definatally a good sized all around firewood saw. What are your plans for it?

Allthough I have never ran the 670, I like these sized saws for firewood. Like The dolmar 6400/7300/7900's, Stihl 441 and 460, Husky 372, et al.

The guys that like the smaller 50cc saws as "all around saws", like the Stihl 290, Dolmar 5105, et al, must not cut as much wood as me.:D

and the bigger saws, like the 066, 385xp, 395xp, etc IMO, for my cutting style, the little more power doesnt offset the added weight.

For power/weight ratio, you cannot beat these mid 60's to upper 70cc saws:thumbsup:

LD1, My plan was to use it for firewood and reaching to the ground without too much bending.
If you recall, I had just scored a Makita DCS6401 with a 20" bar. Love it so far, but wanted to put a 24" B&C on it. Then I saw the CS670 on CL and thought "for $175, I can have a complete saw with 24" B&C for $175."
So I have added 2 60-70CC saws in great shape to my current saws for ~$475.
I haven't even tweaked them or messed with carbs yet.

The 385 was not much more powerful than the 372 but as you state, it weighed in more. Once you jump to the 395, that is a saw with a better power to weight ratio and is a definite and worthy step up from the 372.. I believe the 385 is no longer available.

385xp was replaced by 390xp

I forgot you got that blue 6400:confused2:

You'll have to let us know which one you think runs stronger. And feels better (anti-vibes).

The 6400 is quite an impressive saw for being only 64cc's:thumbsup: It will flat out toast anything that stihl makes up until the 441, which is 71cc's
