A little lesson for us LOL.

Greys usually have the Non-factory-style ROPS. Also have the goofy looking air breather. Also notice the Korean symbol on the sunshade. Wheels are also "old style". The thing that disturbs me most about this unit is that someone has went to ALOT of trouble to make it look like an "American" Kioti. It has the 2554 logos and all of the other stickers that it would have if made for sale here. The seller may not even know, but it seems mighty suspicious.

Emailed seller he said it isn't a grey and that it is less than a year old.

I've seen pictures of those style wheels before. I believe the guy was from England and maybe another from Australia.

If it's only a year old, I wonder why they didn't have the head fixed under warranty.

What could be wrong with the engine after 90 hours ?

I would be stay away from that one.

That may be the reason why it needs a new head /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

In an email from the seller, the engine froze and the head cracked. What else could be wrong with the engine if this is the case? Have looked at photos of the tractor and compared them with others off the internet. They look different in overall dimension. Does this seem to be the case??? If the coolant has indeed frozen, what else could be wrong with it? The photo of the engine seems to have the engine intact, could this be the owners guess?

Why would the engine freeze? The dealer has to prep the tractor and this includes making sure the unit has antifreeze. A tractor that is only one year old should have no reason to not be under warranty. Unless the customer dumped the good antifreeze and put in water instead. This tractor also has no PTO shield. To the seller: If you have a grey call it a grey that's all I can say. 2554's made since anytime in the last few years have folding ROPS standard.
You can see overspray under the hood also. Kioti alternators come factory fresh color, they are not painted.

Kiohio had it right from the start. This is a tractor to stay away from. The owner is apparently not being very forthcoming about its history.
That tractor is old enough to be out of warranty, bought as an import or it would have been repaired. I'm not even sure that "the engine froze" means that it was from cold. People use that term when something breaks internally and the engine stops as well. In that event, just about anything could be wrong with it.

Hi All,

Yes, grey market Kioti's are available. Place in Korea will export to your heart's content along with a few other brands that are not called by the known U.S names.
They have never picked up much here re hard to get parts for unless you struggle with geting them from Korea.

Have the link somewhere and if anyone is interested will dig it up for them. Was kind of interesting that the U.S. Grey market dealers wouldn't touch them.

If the engine froze bad enough to crack a head, there could potentially be a number of other problems also. (Engine block, water pump, radiator, Etc., Etc..)
It would have to be one heck of a deal before I would risk purchasing something like that. (just in case it needed a motor replacement)
