Is there an easy way for a one-man show to install and remove a 3-point post hole digger? I have a Danhouser PH digger, 29 yrs old. It probably weighs the best part of 200# excl the auger bits. I struggle more and more (as I age) to inst and remove it. Has anyone perfected a method or perhaps built some type of stand or device to aid in this task? Thanks

I hang mine with a piece of chain & hook to a rafter in a shed. (left on the rafter all the time)

Back up to it, swing it right into the tractor 3pt connection, and hook it up. Just lean into the 'boom' of it and connect to the top link connector point, then swing the arm to the lower link eyes, and hook them up. No lifting, real easy.

Be sure to lift it ALL the way (with the tractor lift) up before you connect the chain, and it's just the right height to reconnect next time.

I've built a wheeled stand for mine. Very little effort required to attach or detach it. Search for posts by me, as I started a thread on it a while back that included photos.

I also built a wood wheeled stand that supports the PHD. I then wheel it out of the way for storage and then back for mount. Not pretty but it does the job. Combined with the fact I have a Pat's Easy Change, the PHD is not a big deal any more. Still not the easiest implement to mount, but not bad either.

I don't have a covered place for mine, so I just screw it into the ground and unhook it. Probably not the best corrosion prevention for it though.

Spray it with Fluid film before you screw it in and cover it with a tarp.

This cross beam system has worked very well for me over the years. 5-6 minutes for complete attachment, same taking it off. ;)

I built a wheeled stand for mine, similar to what others here built. It is easy to hook up now.

I hang mine from an old chain hoist. Easy to raise and lower for hookup.
