I just bought an earthway seeder, three of them actually. I have seen on the Sutton Ag website (Sutton Ag - Earthway Seed Planter) that they can be joined to plant multiple rows at a time. Sutton has a picture on the website.

I am planting a large food plot of corn and soybeans and would like to plant three (3) rows at a time.

Has anyone done this? If so can you give me an idea where to start? With pics if possible?

Thanks in advance, Ed.

I had ONE of the Earthway planters and sure liked it, but I hadn't heard of putting multiple ones together. I guess it ought to work OK.

I tried to get my hands on one this spring. Too late everyone was sold out. Planted everything the old fashioned way. Builds character, but hurts the back after awhile:D. I'll get one for next year for sure.

I've never heard of being able to put multiple units together either. But it should work, if you've got the hardware to do it.

Pushing 3 of those things all at the same time will likely be quite a chore though, unless you're pulling it with a lawn mower or something like that... but to push it with muscle power alone... hope you've been eating your Wheaties!

i borrowed one this year to plant my plot of sweet corn, i will never plant it by hand again, the earthway seeder worked great and it seems to be growing well.

I have one, and it has never worked up to my expectations. I blame my soil because We have so many rocks and stones that it's hard to push the planter without it hopping up & down and skipping seeds and it doesn't seem to cover them well either.

Well I fgured out how to do it. I used six foot of threaded rod. (I wanted 24" rows max.) I removed the front and rear bolts that are also axles and replaced them with 5/16" threaded rod. I also used 1/4" threaded rod where the handle(s) attach to the planters this made the whole thing a little stiffer.

The hardest part was threading the nuts on the rod. I needed 6 for each rod so I could "pinch" the wheels and the bracket(s) where the handle(s) attach. You have to put the nuts on in sequence or you can't shove the threaded rod through. The whole contraption actually pushes pretty easy. I did do some extra soil prep so the clods are broken up.

Since I am lazy, I am trying to figure a way to attach it to the snow plow bracket on my four-wheeler.

I was all set to suggest the Wolf-Garten Seeder I bought from Amazon for an alternative to the Earthway. A search of Amazon and Wolf-Garten's own site showed that they no longer have the seeder listed. So, I guess this post is just to show how that product works if you are lucky enough to have one. I have both an Earthway and the Wolf-Garten. For small seeds, I definitely prefer the Wolf-Garten. For large seeds and multiple rows, it's hard to beat the Earthway.
