I've got a 2005 DK55C and pulled it out to check it over and noticed oil all down the left side of the under carriage. I opened the hood and pulled the sided panels and noticed a plastic or hard rubber plug under the alternator just barely in the hole(see picture) with oil all around. Upon inspection the stopper was uncomfortably loose even all the way in.

Called the dealer and none of his units have this plug under the alternator. Apparently this is a oil filler point on older units - I had used the one on top of the engine.

Anyway, I took my stopper down and tried it on the dealer's DK 55 and it was loose there as well(although his was pretty tight). Maybe mine was a hair small or had shrunk with heat and age, I don't know. I thought it was just missing a gasket or seal. They don't have them so I got a couple of grommets and it was too tight with two but seemed to be snug with just one.

Those of you with older DKs or with this style of plug may want to check them.

My 2005 DK35 has one of those as well, I asked what it was for and no one seemed to know. I've been putting the oil in the top as well and it is not an easy task unless you unbolt the center hood section.

I'll have to give that a try at my next oil change, I just finished one yesterday.

So his did have it after all. Not unusual to age and need replacement. We stock them.
Did you buy this new or used?

I bought used and have the owners manual. The new DK55 we looked at did not have the filler under the alternator - it was on the other side next to the injector pump.

I think the grommet will work just fine.
