I have wondered about a trailer jack before.
I was thinking a semi trailer landing gear and use the two speed box they have.

bottle jack or like doing. say a cherry picker / engine lift. the jack on one of them. or welding in a floor jack. ya just need help lifting up. let it fall down under its own weight.

I used/modified a camper jack for my home made dump trailer... works well, even if it is a bit slow.
