Dump Trailer Log Splitter?

Has anybody ever heard of a dump trailer log splitter all in one?
I have a wood furnace and only one tractor, I don't want to have to drag my trailer back and then have to drive back to get the splitter out of the bush.

Is the splitter 3pt hitch or trailer type? If it a trailer type, just put a hitch on the back of the trailer. I would use a reciever type so I could take the hitch off.

I need it to be road legal as well because sometimes I go out to my other acreage and get wood there, it's about 20 kilometers away.

How big is your splitter? Can you weld/fabricate? Is there a way to mount a pair of reciever hitchs on your trailer and splitter to be able to quick attatch it to haul? There is always a way, sometimes you have to think outside the box. Of course if you have a larger splitter, that probly wouldnt work. Do you have a front end loader, where you could load/chain splitter to the bucket? I know that it is aggravating not to be able to haul it all. I have a old small poulan splitter that would be easy to do like the suggestions above. Are they that strict in Canada on that, looks like you could tow it behind your trailer, maybe run hazard lights on the splitter? LUTT

Just have a reciver tube welded on the dump trailer and tow the splitter behind. Its done all the time here. Everything from boats behind campers to boats with a jetski behind.

For smaller jobs:
- My splitter has a 5 foot wheel base, 7,000 lb mobile home axle with 14 ply tires is mounted approximately 2' from the rear of splitter. The splitter is heavy enough I can pull a trailer behind it.
- The trailer is just under 16' overall length. It has a 4'x8' bed with 2' high sides (half a cord) and a p/u bed tool box mounted in front of it which contains my chainsaws & accessories. It has a single axle (7,000 lb mobile home axle with 14 ply tires) which is mounted approximately 4' from the rear of the trailer. With the two linked together (splitter first), I can go the speed limit while fully loaded very safely - NO SWAY! The trailer does not have enough tongue weight to pull the splitter behind it safely. This setup has been reviewed & approved by the highway patrol . I am not required to license the splitter even though I use it to pull the trailer.

Around here you aren't allowed to tow 2 at a time, Has anyone thought or seen of a trailer with a splitter on the side so when you split it it falls into the trailer? That way I could tow both and it'd be faster to load them if when they split they just fell in. I may have to break out the welder.

Around here we cant tow two trailers same time on the road either, but I have done that for around my property. Question here is, what type of trailer you have now and splitter? isnt it possible to put your splitter on the trailer if you have enough room? I'm sure there are ways to do this if you become creative.

Yeah at the moment I'm loading my splitter into my trailer(No easy task) and then driving it to the woodlot but when I fill up the trailer I've no way to get the splitter home unless I want to make another trip.

I'm looking for suggestions to build an all in one splitter and trailer, I'm handy with a welder if anyone can help me with some plans to build one I would happy to.

I saw pic. somewhere that had a log splitter as the tongue of a trailer and the guy used the splitter cylinder as the dump for the trailer. Wish I knew where I saw it.
