not only did we dig our line up two times and had it fixed at no charge by our phone co (Bellsouth), my father in law did same thing (next door) a couple years prior, and as luck would have it, the phone guy came out, fixed it... as they were jabbering with him and he left, my now brother in law was back at digging out there, and dug the silly thing up before he (Mr. Bellsouth) got off the driveway /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I asked about why the line isn't buried deeper, the gist of their answer?

they'd rather come back 10 times and "fix" it, rather than have to DIG it up once.

hmm.. I just nodded thinking..."if it were deeper..wouldn't you MISS those opportunites of accidents????"

Not sure why two posts are made to learn (or announce) one thing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've heard for years, always call diggers hotline before digging. You may find something more powerful than a phone line!

Phone lines are expensive enough to place in the ground with huge equipment that can only get it about 15-18 inches down, let alone the expense of going deeper.

I hope it doens't cost much to fix, but the gazillion ads to ""call diggers hotline"" should be noticed, I would think. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
