DSL Light

Anybody ever heard of this? Bellsouth offers a DSL service for $24.95 per month. The regular DSL service is closer to $60.00 per month.

Anyone here have this service? Is it any better than dial up?

I'm sure the "lite" version will have slower upload/download speeds than the regular version. Even the light version will be much better than dialup.

Qwest is our ISP and we have DSL through them. We pay around 35.00 per month and that is a 1meg line. We are running around 15 computers and it is pretty fast. DSL is dropping in price, I just wished it was more available. I am too far away from a site at home to get it and cable isn't out here so I am on a Wireless Cell tower running at 256K which is pretty good.

I have Bellsouth DSL. They have three speeds. I have the middle one. I don't know what the exact cost is but it is cheaper than the extra phone line plus dial-up that I had with them. It works great and I haven't had any trouble with it.

I thought DSL was cheaper than cable, but I pay the exact same $42.95 my cable internet (6 Mbps) than they offer for their best DSL (3 Mbps).

I guess when you go with the throttled down versions, it is cheaper.

this is one of my peeves. My cable company keeps putting these adds on TV about a special one year rate of 30.00, while charging me, a 3 year subscriber 43.00.....for the same speed service. In fact as others get on line, we LOOSE speed, and dsl is not available here, so there is no competition to go to.
