I am going to try to modify the front driveshaft that powers my 47" snowblower,on my 2350 john deere. I am looking for sources for small cv joints and various driveshaft stubs so I can manufacture a better driveshaft, any ideas or websites might help:D

I would look at a local machine shop, ours has a machine to test drive all the drive lines they build. They have sources for almost any setup and u-joint. Your local one might also.

I had a new rear drive shaft built for a full size diesel that had problems keeping u-joints, after they built one up never had to mess with it again. Drove that truck 250,000 miles before we traded it in.

Many ATVs with 4wd have true CV (constatnt velocity) joints up front. I don't mean common Cardan joints, but Tripods. I'm not sure what max angle they will run up to. You can make an approx. cv joint from a pair of Cardans. Just looks at a truck driveshaft to see the double Cardan worked as a CV joint.

Here's one good source of drive shaft adapters, slip-on and weld-on:

You might also try Inland Truck- they have driveshaft ends, make up drivelines...
