Drag Rod

Hi there, I go by the name of PoppyK. I'm a bit of an oldie but still enjoy our little patch in the hills. I go by the name of PoppyK because we now have 10 grandchildren ranging from 18 to two days of age. Its got to finish sometime but I dare not supply them with the solution. Back to the topic at hand. I have a 186D Yanmah tractor and it has served me well for just on 15years when I bought it second hand. A couple of days ago the drag rod gave way right in the middle near the bend in the rod. I have made a temporary repair but would like to get hold of a good second hand, or new, drag rod. Can anyone out there help out in any way at all. Kind regards Poppy K.

Are you referring to a steering drag link, connecting to a tie rod assembly?

Hi there thanks for the replies. I didn't know it was called a drag rod until I looked up the parts list. It is the rod which connects the pitman arm with the front wheels. It is on the left hand side of the tractor and is about a metre or so long. It has a bend in it about halfway along its length - maybe the guys who made Yanmah tractors at that time got a bit bored with straight so decided bent was better. Who knows? It snapped in the centre which created an interesting moment on a downhill slope for this old bloke. I have made a temporary repair but a new one would give me comfort. I hope this helps.
