Hi guys!

I checked my snow blower over before the big snow hits soon and I found out that my shoes on my snow blower were worn paper thin! Gee... that thing is only one year old! Anyhow. The question is: Does the draft control work the same way driving backwards with a snow blower, like it would with a grader blade going ahead? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I thought I might of had too much down pressure and that is why my shoes worn so quickly. To provide a little chuckle here in this forum I attached a picture. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Happy Holidays!

Draft control won't help. When manufacturers decide to cheapen stuff up, one of the first things to go by the wayside is hardning processes and special alloys in favor of using plain old mild steel. You are experiencing the result. Having shoes fabricated from discarded leaf springs is one alternative to more of the same.

Yes, I do have an aftermarket cab made by Laurin on my TC55DA. Looks and works good too. Here is a pic.

The draft control works on pulling on the center arm, not on pushing in on the center arm.

Draft control senses the compression force on the upper arm - when plowing dirt, the harder it pulls, the more the upper arm is being pushed into the tractor.

Backing up with an implement like a snowblower, the upper arm often has little to no force on it, flopping back & forth balanced on the wear skids, and held by the lower arms. Draft control wouldn't know what to do with that.....

I think that is what you meant, but your words could be read in 2 different ways. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
