First thanks to anyone who replies. I have been a lurker on this forum and have found it helpful. I am looking to purchase a small 4wd UTV. I could buy a new Kubota, gasoline, RTV500 (but dealer is about 30 miles away. Not a huge deal but...) I could also purchase a 2012, new (as in never owned) Husqvarna HUV4421 GXP (Gas Kawasaki engine) for about the same price from a local dealer.

Test drove both. Both seem fine. I am mainly hauling wood (up steep inclines) in snow and dirt. The local dealer was talking up the aluminum body and locking differential---- and they are no longer making these, but people on this forum cited the Huskys as among the best UTVs out there.

The Kubota is a good little rig. Nothing fancy. But it is still in production. More reviews on it. I actually like the manual dump bed (as in less stuff to break)....but what do you think? The new Kubota RTV5000 or the 2012 HUV4421 GXP?

Appreciate any experience thoughts you have.

Just a personal opinion here but it's not even close. Kubota would be my choice.

I have worked an RTV500 for three years.

The standard HST transmission on RTV500 could make your decision.

There is nothing like a Hydrostatic (HST) transmission for working utility vehicles and tractors; especially on hills.

Kubota enjoys a very high reputation for HST transmissions.

I consider the malleability and memory of RTV500 plastic body panels a plus.

I wear ear muffs to protect my hearing when operating the RTV500.

Since the Husky is no longer in production (per your post...I didn't research it), I'd go for the Kubota too...

Thanks Jeff 9366 Nice to hear from someone using the RTV500. And thanks for the pics. That is the exact setup I hope to have soon. Thanks again. (and for the ear protection tip)

Thanks Roy Jackson. Yeah no longer made by Husky, but apparently made by Club Car. It made me nervous too, but wanted to be sure it am not walking away from something great. Other threads really liked the HUV4421GPX. Thanks Roy - I appreciate it.

Honda Pioneer is cheaper, liquid cooled and better choice. IMO
