Not only the 0% from Kioti (and others), but the Economic Recovery Act of 2008 will give you a nice additional depreciation the first year, if the tractor is used for commercial purposes.

BUT, you must take delivery of the equipment before 2009.

Indeed, mine was like $7500 on top of the normal 179 deduction. Now, I'm showing a loss for the year because of it, but that is not a big deal.

Raised section 179 depreciation allowance to 250,000. I'm not a CPA, but my understanding is you can deduct the full cost of a piece of equipment in 2008 rather than having to write it off over 5, 7, 10 years etc. In effect, the gov. a percentage of the cost equal to your tax rate.

You already can deduct the full cost the first year, but it may not be the wisest thing to do, on a case by case basis. The Economic Recovery Act of 2008 allows a one time 50% depreciation in addition to the 179 deduction. In my case it is about $7500 on my CK35 that I use for my little farm and custom tractor work. In my case it was the difference between showing a profit and showing a small loss.
