I just found out about him passing a few minutes ago. I hope they bury him with a bullet in his pocket. I will miss him also.

Very few people go through life as loved and respected as Don Knotts. He was a true American Classic. His part as Barney is truely one of televisions greatest characters.

I really enjoyed the whole cast of The Andy Griffith Show but without a doubt, Barney was a jewel that really made the show work. It is perhaps why it is still so popular today.

What was that one movie he did, too... The Amazing Mr. Limpet or something? Where he became a fish. Priceless. When you can remember the stuff you saw when you were a kid....

My favorite episode of the Andy Griffith show was the one where Barney joined the choir. Everyone realized he couldn't sing a lick except for Barney. I can still picture Barney walking through the choir trying to find whoever is singing off key.
Years later, he joined the cast of Three's Company.
While I didn't really care for the show, his presence added considerably to the comedic value of the show.

While I have a bunch of favorites, one of my favorites was when Barney was telling Andy how great his memory was. He told Andy to "hold the book on him" while Barney recited the preamble to the constitution. Barney could not remember a word even though with the help of Andy giving him hints he finshed the whole thing thinking it was all from memory.
