I have all of my other stuff on dollies and it makes them way easier to store and hook up. I still don't have a working one for my Bushog. I tried to put furniture dollies under the front and let the rear wheel support the rest. It was very hard to turn and move. it also wanted to slip on the front two dollies. I then tried a reinforced table frame with wheels on the corners. It was about 6" high and did not raise the rear high enough to make unhooking easy. I tried a 4 x4 on the back side but it still was not right. What am I missing? Anyone have one that works. I am good with wood and can weld if I have to but I have no idea of a good design.

Look at Beppingtons posts and the pictures of his fathers dolly for his flailmower he used 4 by 4's and larger casters.

You can find very large caster wheels at www.Mcmastercarr.com

use the larger caster wheels and the 4 by 4 frame and you will be fine.

Mine is on a dolly. You can see it among all my others here (click on 1st thumbnail):

Unfortunately, there is no close up of the dolly by itself. The rough cutter is on the dolly in the stack. You can see the two casters on the front. The dolly tapers with the rear corners of the brush hog chassis and there are two more casters at the back. The drag wheel of the rotary cutter barely touches the ground. It takes a little bit of effort, but it rolls relatively easily. Mine is a 42" heavy duty Gearmore. The top is about 9/16 ply atop 2x4 outer frame (2x4 turned on its side) and I think the casters are 3", maybe 2.5".

Here's mine. These tri-dollies weren't heavy enough. A couple eventually broke. Had the same problem with plastic dollies underneath my carryall. Gotta use steel dollies.

I now have heavier steel dollies on a 2x6. The original tri-dollies were great because they would sit without falling. To achieve the same thing with the heavier, single dollies, I put 4 of them at offsets to each other. One of the reasons why I had to go with a 2x6, to get the width so the board would sit upright by itself. Once the bush hog is lowered onto it, it'll of course sit fine even 2 of the single dollies.

You gotta remember to remove the board when pulling out. One of other reasons why I went with the 2x6. It won't break if I happen to drive the tail wheel over it.

Note also the little angles. This keeps the dolly from slipping out from underneath to the side when you push the bush hog about in storage.
