Dog kennel plans/ideas

Anyone here have a dog kennel or kennels ?I am looking for ideas/photos of dog kennels/pens etc to house about 10 dogs.I would be interested in looking at what you have or some good links to forums that have some good ideas. I will be building these myseld,so any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have any pictures as we no longer keep a kennel. When we were operating a breeding kennel I made 4' x 20' runs for each dog. We had Boxers so that size gave them enough exercize. Each run connected to a 4' x 4' space inside for sleeping and eating.

I made my runs with standard chain link fence components. Each run was made from 6' x 20' panels using 1-3/8 top rail and gate corners, and covered with chain link fence fabric. The end next to the kennel building was an open frame while the outer end was built with a gate in it. The panels were held together by clamps at the corners. There is also a special kennel latch that is difficult for dogs to open.

Top rail comes in 21' lengths so wasteage is minimal. I found corner pieces where one pipe ran through the corner and used this to make a 3" foot to hold the bottom rail up off the cement. Male dogs will cause the bottom rail to rust out quickly unless it is held clear of contact with the "floor".

Sorry I don't have pictures but a large fence supplier should have runs that they sell made the same way so you can see how the runs are put together.

I used drill bolts to hold the corners together. This is where a cordless drill/driver would come in handy. They were not available when I was making my runs unfortunately.

There's alot of good ideas over there that I got for my kennels. I built mine up against my pole barn. I then cut small holes through the barn and made houses inside for the dogs. That way, they can get in out of the cold, and so can I when it's time for feeding and watering.

www.gundogforum.com is a place where you can find alot of information or tips from others who mostly have more than one dog.
My dad and I have 4 5'x20' kennels set up inside of a 60'x80' fence so we can let a dog out, let it run all day and put it up and don't have to worry about it running off.

Best advise i can give on a dog kennel on a concrete slab... pitch the grade so it drains very well and have a gutter to catch te mess in to make it easier to scoop and pitch.
