G-force,
I read most of the posts in your previous threads, but may have missed someone's post, so I hope my post isn't redundant.
I'm sure you're anxious to get all of this settled and get your new tractor. But if you didn't get a competitive bid, a little patience could save you a lot of money.
The value of an item is the amount that a seller and buyer agree on. For me, the rhetoric about 'corporate discount' or any other such talk is just smoke and mirrors. The dealers know all the terms and tricks and dollar amounts better than you do, so the best way to nullify that advantage is to get two or more dealers competing with each other.
When I bought my tractor, I was in your same situation. I drove to a dealer about 60 miles from my local dealer, told them I was looking for a competitive price (I didn't tell them what my local dealer wanted) and got a much lower quote. I brought that back to my local dealer and he matched it. In fact, when I told them the quote that the other dealer gave me, the number I gave them was $100 less than the other dealer's quote (that was by mistake on my part, honest!). But they matched it anyhow, and I have been very loyal to them since then (just as they have been to me).
By going to that other dealer I saved upwards of $1000, and that was 15 years ago.
