Does Massey make a 3rd function for GC1700s

Greetings,

Does anyone know if Massey makes a valve addon option for the GC1700s sub compacts?

Does it make or recommend a 3rd function addon manufacturer?

I want a grapple and/or a snow blade and/or an auto attach to fit on the front end loader when bucket is off) . . on the unit I want to buy soon.

I'd prefer an addon valve to the original or a 3 gang to replace the original. If I have to settle for a 3rd function valve that would be the 2nd choice . . but I want control of sensitivity or movement . . Not just on and off by a switch.

I've had the W.R. Long mentioned to me but ????

I know LandPride's unit is for Kubota's not Massey. Doesn't Massey have a product or valve to give front remotes for either the older GC2400s etc.or the newer GC1700s?

The dealer said Massey doesn't have an option or recommendation. But that just doesn't seem fully reasonable.

My understanding is that the snow blade works off the yoke. At least that's what I was told by the dealer as I've been pricing one out with a snow blade. Hope that's right.

We're both right

Massey makes 2 snow blades for the front of the GC1700s. One is a 60 inch and one is a few inches shorter. And yes . . each of them attaches to the front from a hitch that attaches to the frame.

It also requires that the fel not be on . . So if course then a 3rd function isn't needed.

But I want to maximize the benefits and use of the fel . . so I want to be able to have the bucket off quickly (quick attach) and then quick attach a snow blade with tilt control (3rd function). Why? Because weather in Western WI is always changing in winter and we also get wind (drifting). So I may need to plow . . then bucket . . . then plow again.

In other months . . I want a grapple on the fel when the bucket isn't on . . so again a 3rd function capability is needed.

No, Massey does not offer a 3rd function valve. There are solutions, but someone with more knowledge/experience than I will need to respond. Not sure why that is surprising/ Kubota doesn't offer stock a 3rd function valve for the BX series, and just started to offer one for the B series. Does Deere offer a 3rd function valve for the 1000 series? I think Landpride saw a opportunity to sell valves, so they started working with kubota, who sells the most tractors in this class. I am not sure Kubota went out of their way to provide features to the consumer, but rather an aftermarket manufacturer saw an opportunity to sell more stuff...

Massey also does not offer a quick attach on the FEL. There are after market solutions though. None are "cheap", all add extra weight.

Not sure about ownership, full or part, but the strategic alliance between Kubota and Landpride started a few years ago...2008 or so. Not sure who pursued who..eh...maybe it doesnt matter.

Would you mind sharing which quick attach system you plan using? and which snow blade?

As far as snow blade choice for my plan . . that isn't decided as yet . . I have to winnow it down some. I've looked at several but just haven't seen what my brain is picturing. I want power angle but not a "big blade".

As far as a quick attach process, there are several reasons why this will be my choice for the new Massey GC1715 when it arrives in early June.

If you have a DL100 loader, you're in luck. You can get the WR Long 3rd Function Valve Kit for it.

I've been coveting a tach-n-go as well, it looks like a well designed/built product.

There is alot of things to be said about it. I'm not a tractor guru . . but my background gives me good understanding of "fit and feel" concepts of manufactured goods. I spent alot of time looking at tractors because of "fit and feel" so I see no reason why it wouldn't be equally important in the implements too.

Also the ease of use of the patented design is quite clever.
