I have never bought a new Kubota. When you build a tractor on their website, they give a list price. What has your experience been with respect to discounts off the list price?

I am in the process of buying a L5460. The price I have agreed to is about 16% less than the price on Kubota’s website. It seems all the discount is on the tractor. The accessories (remote, third function, rear lights, etc) are close to list price.

Some dealers will offer a discount and others won't. Sometimes they keep the old price on their "older" models. The price is directly set to the actual cost and tractors bought in early '19 are kept at those prices and not raised to be that as the later '19 purchased tractors.

Depends upon the dealer.

Kubota will offer "aged inventory" pricing (discount) on machines that have been upon a dealers lot for some time. Some dealers will pass such discount on to the purchaser while others will not.

Pat close attention once you have closed a deal if your dealer encourages you to accept a tractor found at another dealer rather than a new one from Kubota. The dealer may well be looking around for one with such aged inventory pricing to pocket.

Cash talks. Buy at the end of the month. Walk away if they dont want to haggle. Talk to more than one dealer. Have your must have wish list ready, contact the dealers by phone and have them fax you their best all-in cash price. Go in person to finalize the deal.

I suggest negotiating a couple complete sets of filters and a digital copy of the WSM with your purchase with the all-in price before you sign. You might get the first 50 hour service in for free too.

Sometimes the dealership owner gives you the best deal, sometimes its the salesperson who is short on quota at the end of the month wanting to deal.

I think the key is to know exactly what you want and dont dicker with guys who dont show any interest in selling. You vote with your wallet.

I've dealt with the same dealer now for 38+ years. They are fair and have always done right by me. When I bought my new Kubota M6040 - I got a fantastic trade in value on my old tractor. They discounted the new Kubota $1500 also. I'm happy.

I would get quotes from your 5 closest dealers in person. They will all be different and should be well under the website price. They may have something leftover that catches your eye on the yard. Sending ya a PM.

As SDT said above, depends on the dealer. Very few tractor dealers around here. Nearest Kubota dealer to me is 130 miles away - and they are one of only two Kubota dealers in all of northern Nevada.

I built my M7060 on line, then went in to talk to the dealer. His quote was exactly as what the Kubota on-line price was. NO discount for paying cash even.

As noted previously, you can often get a better deal if you haggle over extras rather than price. A workshop manual (WSM) is key if you want to do any maintnsnce on your machine beyond greasing & fluid changes. Service supplies for your first couple scheduled maintnance intervals are common. There are less things in the 50 hour service than you might expect, so get them to go for all of them up to the 300 hour or something if you can.

I've seen people say 10% off MSRP, but that's been a little more than I've been able to manage.

Definitely shop around & let the salesman know you are shopping around. My local dealer has been close or better on price so o just stick with them. I might have been able to save a couple hundred in the short term, but I like the dealer & they treat me well in the long run.

Another thought....

The market is deteriorating and Kubota knows it.

Incentives have bumped up a bit recently on many models.

Pay attention.
