Hi all.

Looking to gather some reviews on the new released JD 2025R. What do you think of it? I understand it shares the same loader, autoconnect deck, backhoe, motor, as the 1 series. Is it worth the upgrade to the bigger tires and slightly more hydraulic flow?

i was looking for a smaller CUT under 26hp I looked at and liked the 2025. i like my JD dealer, but the reason i went with a Kubota is it has a 3 range hydro vs the 2 range in the JD. the JD is a very nice tractor

Thanks Terry. I am strongly looking at JD for the fact that it is the only dealer close to me, Kubota dealer is more than 2 hours away.

I have to consider what I get extra between the 1025R and the 2025R then justify the cost. So far, it isn't in the implements as they share the same. I do like the bigger frame and tires which I am sure provides a better ride. I am also not sure of the difference in price.

i don't plan on taking my kubota back to the dealer. and i can always have parts, filters/fluids, shipped to me. i wouldn't let a dealer 2 hours away factor in my buying decision. dad has a JD 2210 and had a kubota BX i think SCUTs are just about useless. the 2 series in the deere and B series in kubota is as small as i would go

OP,

Maybe if you spelled out some of what you're looking to use the tractor for, kind of work, implements to be driven, size and type of land, etc, you can get some detailed feedback on your chosen model?

Thanks for the tip.

I pretty much know what I'm looking for, 25 ish HP. Anything bigger would be to big. More specifically, I am looking for feedback on the complete redesign of the 2025R. There isn't much feedback on it that I can find, and since it's basically a 1 series on steroids (tire size) I was inquiring ones advise if it would be worth the extra cost, and what that cost roughly is. I have no intentions on getting anything larger than a 25hp, so this new 2 series with the added features that the 1 series has makes it a possibility for me.

I suspect there isn't a lot of these units out there yet considering they are so new.

Biggest difference on the 2025R vs. 1025R are the turning brakes and reliability of the FEL controls. The 1025R has a gentle PTO engagement, its major nice feature. Otherwise, the 2025R is far better. Absolutely no problems with it so far.

There's a wide range of frame size and weight between say a JD 1025R and a Kubota L2501, both 25hp. It would help to know what tasks need to be done with the tractor. I don't have any feedback with regard to the 2025R. I assume it's a nice machine. Weight determines more what a tractor can do, so just make sure that whatever you get has enough weight to get your tasks done.

I seriously looked at the new 2025R and thought it was really nice. I was set on it until I found out what John Deere money could buy me in other tractors. I really like the operator ergonomics and comfort.

I probably way over analyzed it, but I often wondered if the 1025R would be the better performer since it had less mass to rotate.
