does anyone have a promaster 200?

I know its an old one, 1996, but I am slowly trying to repair mine. The charging coil wires, sits under the flywheel, are not connected on mine. I have no loose wires and I can not find where they attach. I think they must attach to the battery in some fashion or the voltage regulator. Where do they go? If you have a 200 could you send me a picture of the wiring area so I could see what I am missing. It is obvious from mine that there has been some sort of electrical overload as there are signs of melting. Mine starts and runs, and cuts grass like a mother, but it dies when disconnected from the battery and drains the battery. thanks for help

thanks fladon,
kawasaki engine, the plug to the voltage regulator is slightly melted, there are 6 slots with 3 wires coming from the harness presently plugged in to the regulator, two places on the plug are melted and at least appear to be where the two coil wires could attach??

There should be 5 wires in that plug. Wiring for a 20 and an 18HP Kawi are the same. Below is the wiring diaghram.

thanks for the diagram and your time, I have pulled the flywheel and replaced the charging coil and the pulsing coil, is there a test that can be performed on the voltage regulator to see if it is functioning correctly? It is an $80 part, which I dont want to replace if I dont have to, but I dont want it to burn through my $200 dollars worth of coils either.
