Kioti DK55
Was wondering how many people have a DK55 and haven't had any major problems with them?.....with several hundred hours?....or if a lot of people have had problems with them?....Was planning on buying a new one real soon, but after reading about the front axle problems, not so sure that I want to go with a Kioti DK55........
I can buy a used tractor and work on it....I want a tractor that when I want to work it, it will be ready......Had a MF that was broke most of the time.do not want a repeat..... Thanks for any info ..........Mike in WV....

i have a DK55 cab with over 600 hours (under 2 years old). these are the problems i've had:

- replaced pin holding shuttle shift linkage ($1 part and 2 minutes to fix/warranty)
- replaced door handle mechanism (needed spring/warranty)
- broke pivot pin weld on FEL ($15/10 minutes to fix)

i consider all of the above minor issues. the most aggravating was the pin that attached the shuttle shifter to the shaft. it was a brain-fart moment for the individual who put it together @ the factory; it simply wasn't attached properly (according to my dealer).

one issue about parts - yesterday i broke a pivot pin on the FEL. i went to the dealer. the part was IN STOCK - had the tractor back to work in under 1 hour for $15.

i use this tractor for all farming chores (haying, logging, cultivation, etc.). i couldn't be more pleased with the deal i got, and the reliability of the machine.

as for the front axle problem.. i was contacted by kioti about the fix. the dealer has the parts, scheduling the work once i get through baling the first cutting - i have NO problems with my front axle.

good luck.

I've got one I'm quite happy with. I've got a ford 801, and two kubotas as well. My Dad had all fords on the farm, so I'm the first to jump into Kioti's.

I have 85 hrs and it is about 9 months old. I've got industrial tires - go with Ag. I've also added a grapple and it is the real ticket.

I use it on a small farm - 25 acres - knocked over some barns, bush-hogging, moving slash, clearing and grading. It is heavy enough to do some work, yet fuel efficient enough to not make me notice.

The air conditioner is nice although adequate if it is a hot day. THe pop-top is sweet too. I really looked at the Kubota 50 horse and when I started looking at the ROPS/Cab and other bits and pieces, I went with the Kioti.

I've managed to break my radio antenna the first week or so. I'd recommend to Kioti to place it on the rear of the cab with a flex fitting or flex antenna. I'll do this myself sometime.

The fuel gauge is a bit flakey, but I live with it. The engine is smooth as silk, and partly why I like 4 cylinders over 3. The transmission is okay - shuttle shift. I'm not sure if it shouldn't shift easier, but I'll wait a bit further before talking to my dealer.

The power steering is a bit of a nuisance when stopped with the clutch in, and the hydraulics are a bit slow on the loader, but okay. I was using my brother's kubota backhoe this weekend and really couldn't stand the hydraulics on his machine. You had to feather everything or you'd slam the thing around.

I like the tractor and I believe if Kioti pays attention and keeps improving, they'll have a bigger and bigger piece of the pie.

Good Luck.
