I have a new (130 hrs) dk55 with a hydraulics problem. When I mow with a bush hog (5') or a haybine or pull the square bailer the hydraulics overheat. When this happens the spring back function on the joystick fails in the raise and lower positions. The dump and rollback positions still spring back to neutral. Also the rear remotes become almost impossible to return to neutral after pushed past detent. The dealer started out by changing the hydraulic filter, no help, then he replaced a bunch of o-rings in the system to no avail. Next he replaced the valve that the joystick operates. At first I thought that this had done the trick, but I don't know if it actually helped or I just hadn't pushed the tractor hard enough because while mowing hay this week I had problems once again. I checked the operation of the joystick and it would not spring back from the raise position. The other three positions and the rear remotes seemed to operate normally. We have placed heat indicator strips on the tractor and earlier they were burning in all six heat indicator bars (260 degrees I think). This week only four bars were burned but once again I do not know if the problem is partially fixed or if I just didn't push the tractor long enough to reach six bars. My dealer is about to tear down the hydraulics again. Has anybody had any experience with this problem or any suggestions on what to look for. Thanks

Do any/all of those have a hydraulic cylinder on them.
Hydraulic top link? Or side link?
Something is dead heading somewhere.
At idle can you hear a whine or does the three pt act unusual, engine idle slow, sound like it's laboring?
The heat will make things act unusual for sure.

What is the engine temp guage reading?

It behaves like this with or without the fel on the tractor. The rear remotes act the same way if the haybine is plugged in or nothing is connected. There are no other added hydraulic cylinders. The pto acts normal and the engine does appear loaded except when you operate one of the remotes or the joystick.

The temperature gauge never rises past the point that it normally goes to which is just below the first line on of the normal operating marks.

If you are mowing , baling, etc, may I ask why you are using the loader. I think I understand that the loader lever is not self centering when released. Is this correct? I also am curious as to what the remote levers are doing in there detent positions? Is this for the haybine ? I have a dk55c and about the same number of hours, I have pulled a heavy offset disk, and also a 7 foot shredder, as well as a 15 ft batwing in light grass, and have not had any issues as yet, but I would be interested to hear how your situation turns out.

I first noticed the problem while bush hogging with the fel on. The reason it was on was to push a couple of rocks and downed branches out of the way. The rear remotes were used to lift and lower the haybine. Since I first had this problem, on the advice of my dealer, I have operated the joystick and the rear remotes, whether or not the fel was on or if anything was connected to the remotes, periodically as I used the tractor to see when and if the problem occurs. It seems to take 3.5 to 4 hours in 90 degree heat to start acting up. The hay tedder does not seem to put enough strain on the tractor to cause this.

Oh well looks like I'll have to wait till spring for any answers because the dealer didn't find anything this round and I don't have anything to do that would replicate the problem till next year. Does anyone have any idea at what temperature the hydraulics would have to reach before I need to worry about damage to my tractor?

I know on some other tractors it is possible for the three point to be causing the tractor hydraulics to run over relief. Is this possible on the DK55 as well?

Thats what I keep running thru my head, hydraulics bypassing creates ALOT of heat.
Surely there is something the dealer can do to recreate the situation.
Gonna be 90's here this weekend.
