I just purchased a 2006 DK45S with 456 hours on it and used it for the first time this weekend to brush hog 5 acres. Every thing seemed to work great except i kept having one problem. The transmission jumps out of gear every once in a while. It seems like the forward and reverse shifter doesnt allow the transmission to get fully engaged in forward, in Reverse it does not do it. Id really hate to load it up and take it to the dealer because its 30 miles away. If someone thinks they know whats up, please let me know. Should i be concerned? Also a light on the instrument panel comes on that is a square with a two circles separated by a line. Its the light to the right of the PTO light.

If still under warranty I'd get it to the dealer ASAP
If you call with the serial number they can tell you how much warranty is left.

I figured out the warning light. Its the hydrolics system. I probably need to change the filter. As far as the shifting issue. My terminology is probably not up to par with expirenced tractor owners because this is my first. The shuttle shifter is what is jumping into neutral from forward. It feels like it sometimes completely engages in forward and other times it feels like the lever doesnt completely go all the way forward. I thought that it may be a clutch issue at first, but the clutch feels good and does not make any noise. I am guesing that there maybe a linkage adjustment i need to make but i have not taken anything apart to see if the is any adjustment that could be made. Hopefully some one can give me some advise. I am a pretty good mechanic so i just wanted so get some advise before i start taking things apart.

Check with your dealer about warranty. Remember 2 years you don't have to touch anything - then years 3 and 4 power train (internal components).

Check all your linkage first. We had a tractor with a similiar issue and he had bent linkage. Just ran over something and hit/bent the rod. Straightened and no more problems. If not it is internal - probably a shifter fork..... And I hate guessing.

It has just developed this problem or it is an existing problem inherited from the PO? If it is the former, then buying as is should not be surprising to find things out of order.
The warranty has expired so unless you know what to look for, I would suggest biting the bullet and have Mr Kioti service it. Go get a trailer from United Rentals for $50 and haul it over there.
I have the repair manual for this tractor (same as yours) and it is quite mystifying due to the Chinese restaurant menu quality of the translation. You really have to rely on the pictures and they are often no more explanatory than the text.

Deputy just went through this

Most likely a bent shift fork in the shuttle

Need to come to a complete stop when shifting from forward to reverse

I'd expect likely something internal to the shuttle

Should be fairly straight forward

Hopefully under warranty I bet prior owner knew about i

Do you come to stop and shift clean from forward to reverse?

Ok. So i pulled the shift fork out this weekend and it is not bent but i noticed that there is a lot more wear on one side than the other. I would guess about 3/16th more wear on one side. Could this be the issue?

Yes it could be. The NEW or Revised Fork is thicker and more substantial than the original. Replace now!

Another thing you can check is the shaft your fork rides on. There is a ball and spring in there and possibly could be worn. I replace the shaft, ball and spring when replacing the fork.

While you are in there, look at your synchronizers and check to see they are NOT broken. If they are this is a problem and a new shifter fork will NOT resolve your issues - just make you tear into it a 2nd time.

Did you happen to check all the Forward and Reverse linkage? I serviced one Thursday and had a broken bolt and a loose bolt near top where handle attaches.

An easy way to check the synchornizers is to pull the main hydraulic drain plug. If you find some "moon" shaped pieces of metal, about 3/4" long, they are your synchronizer keys. If the tractor had ever overshifted, the synchronizer keys can pop out and end up in the drain. If you find keys on the drain magnet, replace the synchronizers.
