Tractor
Kioti DK45SE
Hate to do it for my first post, but I found a 2006 KD45 for sale locally and the guy is asking $17,000. It is the gear transmission model, 4x4, and it has the 4-1 bucket which I don't know the size of but I would guess would be a about 6 feet across. He actually had a smaller bucket on the tractor from his Kubota and the one that would come with it was a good bit larger. I'm not in a great need for a tractor right away but I've been looking and hate to pass up a good deal since it is about as close as I'm going to find one. From reading on here, I was already leaning hard on getting a Kioti, mainly the DK40. The tractor looked to be in excellent shape, and oh yeah, it has right under 250 hours. Let me know how good a deal it is.
Thanks

Wingbone---Welcome to TBN.
Back in 06 if you found the right dealer a 45 could have been bought for about $19,500 but the four in one bucket would add to the price. 250 hours means it's about new if they've done the regular maintenance.
With all the good financing available now on new tractors and free loader options on some models I'm not sure if it's a good deal or not. The 45's are good tractors so you can't go wrong with that model. Good luck.

I don't know, did you check all the sites that sell used equipment? Sounds a little high to me, but I go to my share of equipment auctions. Maybe someone else can tell you all the equipment websites to see. A new 40 should be somewhere in the ballpark of the used tractor.

Be aware that there are different generations of Kioti tractors with the DK model line. DK45 you are looking at from 2006 is probably the DK45S, not the DK45se. Both great tractors but you mentioned you were looking at a new DK40 which would be the SE version so I thought I'd bring it to your attention. The DK40 and 45 SE versions did not come out until 2007 I believe.

I'd think 17K for a well maintained DK45s and loader with 250 hours would be a fine deal.

I still haven't decided about this tractor and haven't made him an offer, mainly due to my reservations about even buying a tractor at this time. Anyway, I'm pretty sure he'll take less, how much I don't know. His situation is he only bought the tractor because he bought out another guy's contracts to do tractor work and it was a package deal. He already has another tractor. He's listed the ad twice in as many days so I think he's fairly motivated. What kind of offer would you consider in the range where you'd hate to turn it down? I'm thinking of trying to get him in the 15k range and/or asking if he'll include an other attachments. I know he had some scrape blades, at least one bush hog, a grappler, maybe more.

Well, the 4n1 is worth over $2000 new and the tractor is certainly north of $20,000 new. As the tractor has a 4n1 it probably has a diverter valve (though possibly just rear remotes) and a diverter valve or electric over hydraulic valve would cost an additional $500-1000 installed. 250 hours is halfway through the breakin period and if it hasn't been abused this tractor is still a toddler. If you need a 5000lb plus tractor with a strong loader then pretty much anything under the asking price is a pretty good deal. I'd offer $15500 as a price that I'd kick myself for not paying. Again, that assumes you need such a tractor.

If you don't need the 4n1 then you could sell it and the diverter valve for at least $1500 to make up some of your cost.

I know the rear remotes were not in use so he must have the valve for the 4n1 bucket.

Paid 23K for a 2006 DK45 sC (cab) with (Kioti) loader and subframe (Kioti) backhoe. 120 hrs.

Well,
I've been back on forth on calling the guy back about the tractor because I REALLY hate bargaining with someone. He did come down to 16,000 and I asked him about putting anything with it, which he said he would throw in a scrape blade. I'm assuming those aren't real expensive but I would imagine in the neighborhood of a couple hundred bucks and I could get some use out of it. I'm going back to look at it again and wonder if there is anything real specific I should be looking for? I guess mainly leaks are going to be the obvious things. Suggestions?

What a deal batsea, you saved $9-10,000 dollars over what you would have paid in 06.
With your tractor Wingbone there is not much to look for, it is basically a new machine. It's highly unlikely you're going to find any leaks unless it's a high hour tractor. It should look new, if it's all beat up then steer clear.
