I haven't had to use my PTO for a while and now when I tried to turn it on, I've got nothing. The local tractor guy who's been helping me told me that the internal solenoid in the transmission is not working and I need to bring it to the dealer. Since a Kioti dealer is almost 80 miles from me, I'd like to find out whether that was good advice.

Sorry, I can't help ya, I don't own that model, but; That's why I like gears and levers. The fewer solenoids, computers(ECU's)and other electronic [junk], the better:rolleyes:

You may have already done this, but make sure you check all the little things first.
Is the fuse blown?
Is there electric getting to the solenoid when you turn on the switch( check for power, your wires, switch and conections)?
Once you rule these items out as being the problem then you can start looking at the solenoid.

The DK 45 may be differant, but the solenoid switch for the PTO on my DK 35 appears to be external, and mounted on the modulating valve on the right side of the transmission (just in front of the hydraulic filter).
Very easy to get to, check for power or work on with my DK model.

Thanks. I'll take a look at it as soon as I can.

Hi,
Does the green light on the fender light up? Are you trying to run in auto or manual? If auto...make sure the 3 pt is lowered.
It sounds to me like a problem with a dirty plug or something not making a clean contact.

That is where the solonoids for both PTO and 4WD are located on the DK40se (and presumably the DK35se and DK45se). Pretty much directly beneath the FEL control lever location on the right side. I think the forward solonoid is the 4WD and the rear is the PTO. Very easy to access and check for power/continuity.

I had a problem with 4WD suddenly not working and it turned out to be a loose connector (with the help of some brush I had run over). In my case the guilty connector was in a bundle that is under the operator station on the left side of the tractor just aft of the step.
