Have a 2000 DK45 with 450+ hours on it. Whenever I turn the PTO switch the 10A fuse blows. Was trying to diagnose this a few months back and decided to go ahead and replace the pto switch and the pto relay with no luck. I've got the wiring diagram and have done continuity tests on all the wires from the switch out to the relay to the micro-switch out to the PTO solenoid. Also did continuity tests between all those wires and ground to try to find any obvious shorts.
The thing that I did notice is there are two blue wires on the solenoid connector and I get continuity between those two wires. On the incoming connector to the solenoid there is an orange and black wire. No continuity between them unless I plug it back into the solenoid. This doesn't seem right but I want to be sure before I spend $350 on the solenoid. What makes me think that there might be something else wrong is when I unplug the solenoid and turn the PTO switch the fuse still blows.
I'm certainly no expert, and may have easily missed something obvious. Attaching a pic of the PTO solenoid and I can upload the wiring diagram if that would be helpful.
Any thoughts on what else to try or what else to look for? Thanks in advance for any help.
