Dk40se engine swap to dk45se engine

After my bil blew the motor in my tractor, I decided to replace it with the 45 se engine instead. No major price difference. The power difference between the two engines is surprising. When I used to drive over to my friends house to brush hog, I used to have to down shift. Now it's high range high gear with no problem.

I've always been a fan of getting the largest engine available offered in a platform. Several folks on here poo-poo that idea, saying you don't need that power..... Okaaaaayyyyyy...... :laughing:

So, knowing what you know now, would you have made the same decision when you bought the 40, if costs weren't a major concern at the time? Just curious.

Yes, the 45 is noticeably stronger. I think the 45se comes with larger tires so you might not see the difference. Brush hogging is easier too. Weight is still the issue when disking.

Overheated it while brush hogging ran it that way for hrs.
