With the recent cold snap we have been having on the east coast my steering cylinder has developed a small leak when cold.

Once the warm oil gets in there it stops, but it's not going to get any better with time.

I looked up the parts breakdown and as usual, Kioti is only offering the entire cylinder, no rebuild kit.

Has anyone ever opened one of these up? My guess there is probably an o-ring and a backer in there that is replaceable.

I've had good luck with having a hydraulic shop rebuild large cylinders. I would certainly try that before replacement. Good luck.

I agree with Paul. Have a hydraulic shop look at it. They'll have the parts and expertise to do a good job for far less than a new steering cylinder and less stress on you, too.
