Loader DK40 Loader- ******* Application Questions

/ DK40 Loader- ******* Application Questions #21
I don't know him. He very well may be able to pull it off. The reason I stated that is I could go take measurements from my neighbors DK40. He would be taking a shot in the dark unless he has really done his homework. I never said he couldn't do it. Just because I think I could pull it off doesn't mean I wouldn't be in over my head. Being in over your head doesn't mean you couldn't do it. Money wise it wouldn't be a worthwhile project.

He has a DK40. He could check the measurements, get brackets that closely match, then measure 8 times and modify. This is assuming he has the skill and equipment to do so (I for one have neither.) The hydraulics are the easy part. The DK comes standard with the loader valve, so if the loader comes with hydraulics, all he has to do is maybe find some hydraulic hoses to go from loader to valve.

Now, that said, I think it would be easier to get a factory loader. They run 3 to 4K, which can't be much more than the cost of fabbing one up yourself. Easily available from the dealer, they are setup and all the specs match. Yeah its an expense, but well worth it IMO. There is no such thing as lightly used loader at 40HP. I haven't used a wheel-barrow since I got mine. You'll find plenty of uses for it.

BTW, the free loader is if you buy it with a tractor, and the cost is built into the tractor price. If you bought a tractor without the loader, there would be a significant discount in the price.

Been watching this discussion for awhile and IMHO you put reason and logic to words the best....good job, Mike.
