Hi All,

I just wanted to let everyone know that another member has chosen Kioti -- I will received my DK40 on Friday. I am borrowing my father's bush hog so I should be able to cut down about 15 acres of scrub and grasses this weekend.

I look forward to continued discussions.

Thanks,
Michael

Unfortunately to fit my budget I could only get the following:

DK40, KL1470, Creeper Gear, Single Spool Remote Hyd. Valve, Industrial Tires (loaded).

My father has a hobby farm (approx 30 acres, with meat goats) so he is willing to lend me some of his attachments -- bushhog, rear blade, etc.. when I need them.

I am located just west of Toronto -- so it has been wet and humid, I am hoping the weekend will be dry.

Do most of you keep the tractor in 4WD or 2WD when you are doing most simple activities with the tractor?

Thanks,
Michael

I keep mine in 4WD all the time.It doesn't see pavement. My tires aren't loaded and when I had trouble with the 4wd staying engaged it didn't take much to spin the rear wheels even with the box blade attached.

4 WD for loader work, boxblading, and snow plowing.
2 WD for most everything else, finish mowing and brush mowing (unless on a steep hill).
Good luck with the new tractor. I see you got the creeper gear option. That is one option I did not get on my DK 35 that I should have.

I put my 4wd in and out as needed. It doesn't take long to get familiar with what conditions require 4wd. Pretty soon it will become second nature for you like shifting. Some units came out a while back that had trouble staying in 4wd. Mine is the opposite. It has to be finessed a bit to come out some times. I don't realy have to change back and forth much anyway. Good luck with your new Kioti and congrats!

Mike, did you buy your tractor at Tractorland(Bob Nixon)?
That's where I got mine,I'm outside of Buffalo,N.Y.
Got it in the crate, saved a bundle.Cut up the metal crate and used it to beef-up the frame on my son's truck, restored a box blade that was tweeked and still have plenty of angle and C-channel for my next project.
I would suggest that anyone who has bought a Kioti to ask the dealer for the crate, most dealers don't know what to do with them, they're built every bit as well as the tractor that comes in them.........Mike
