Kioti 35DK
My Kioti DK 35 has been a real workhorse for me. I bought it with 1755 hours and it now has a little over 1850 hours. Always started even in the Central Texas weather without a problem, then one warm day it wouldn't start. The battery had some corrosion and I cleaned the posts and it started. Then the next time I went out it wouldn't start again. I check the battery both without a load and with a load. It was running 12.6 v w/o a load and 12.1 with a load. Cleaned the posts again and all grounding locations. Was checking the solonoid with my wife starting the tractor and it started, I got a bunch of work done, turned it off and the next time a couple days later it wouldn't start again, so I bought a new battery. Lights came on but nothing happened, anybody got any thoughts? Also checked all the fuses and they were ok.

Can you hear the starter solenoid clicking when you turn the key to start?

Sounds like a bad battery cable. They tend to corrode inside the insulation so they look fine to the naked eye but won't handle the starter. Sometimes moving a cable restores function temporarily. Next time it happens, bypass each battery cable (one at a time) with a jumper cable and see if that lets you start.

The other likely possibilities are the key switch (squirt WD40 in the key hole) or a failing start relay. The relay (one of the three on the firewall) is a common automotive item (like $10).

Sorry you bought a battery you probably don't need.

Ok so again I agree with ritcheyvs . The negative battery cable in my case had failed. First I kept cleaning connection to frame and finally had to replace entire cable. They crap out, tough to believe but they do fail.
