Hello all, I know this is my first post; but I have issues with my tractor that brought me here. First Off I have a 2003 Dk45 which I purchased in Nov. of 2003 Very decent price, and compared to the other options I saw a very good alternative. Well Jan. this year (05) I decided to do my 200 hour service, when I drained my transmission there was huge chuncks of metal on the magnets. I immediatly called the dealer and took it in and three weeks later I got it back. Fixed? Well I never had any shifting problems of any sort, but they said the syncros were broke and stripped in the trans. When I intially brought it home the shifter felt awsome and still does, it's like turning my truck blinker on to go fwd. to rev. I was building a fence two weeks ago and noticed to screw had stoped, so I lifted and checked to shear bolt and it was intact. Monday I went to till my garden and the PTO would barely spin the tiller in the mud. Needless to say I was upset and took it back and its in the shop again. My question is, could the dealer have messed some thing up to cause the symptoms I am having now, also Has anyone else had these issues or did I get a tracktor thats good for 200 hours?

Thanks in Advance
Clark

Clark,
Maybe someone here will have a better idea of whats going on with your machine. But I don't recall anyone on the tractor sites I visit having the type of problems you seem to be having.
Hope it gets fixed and fixed right.

I have heard of the occasional problem with the syncrhonizers on the DK45, but not what you describe. There is a planned change to add double sycnhronizers to that model, but I don't think it had anything to do with breakage as described.
I don't think the dealer did anything, I think the metal may have ruined your hydro pump. It's under warranty, get the pressures checked because it sounds like you're starting to have pump failure.
I could be wrong, it's just what it sound like to me. There should never have been large pieces of metal on the magnet, just finer pieces. John

Well I called the dealer today and the service man told me he had pressure checked it and it tested good. He then said he was going to hook up an implement and see if he could get it to fail(his way of adding insult to injury I'm sure). Thanks for the replies, I just thought that there may have been some one here that might know whats going on.
