I just started my 50 hour service, all went well until it was time to change the Hyd filter. I tried to remove it by hand, then used a strap wrench, all that did was crush the can. Tried a small chisel and hammer to tap the rolled over rim. Nothing will move it. So far I haven't put a hole in the filter. Anyone else had this problem, and if so how did you get the filter off?

Hello Toadhill, the first filters are tough to romove, that gray paint is tough stuff... I used a chain wrench for my first filter change, some other folks have used the strap wrenches and pipe wrenches as well.. This was a topic on here a few months back so you can try to find the previous thread..

Oh yeah,
The first time can be tough but you will get it.
Been all the way to driving a screw driver thru them.

BTW Toad Hill or was it Toad Hall racing back years ago.
I did FF in SCCA and some IMSA pit crewing (gas man) at Daytona and Sebring. I remember Toad HAll.
Was this any assoc. of yours or ???

And yeah ain't nothin like the good old days with no pit speed limit and having Gregg go by you 100+ right at your back.
