I have a DK 35 it is real hard to shift from low to high range. Almost to the point of not being able too. I have sprayed lube on the linkage under the tractor with no effect. Has anyone else had this problem??
Yes. You need to lub the shaft that goes into the housing, that should help it to shift, I've made putting lub on that spot a regular part of each 50 hour lub cycle.
Yes, many times though mainly in the spring. I assumed it was due to using low range while blowing snow all winter and never using high range.
I found the spindle going into the gear box to be the culprit, removed all linkages and then sprayed/worked loose. Once spindle can rotate, sprayed some more. It did work free enough to no longer be a problem and now I lube it regularly.
Thanks fellows I will get back under there and start lubing it up. I used tractor today and it shifted ok, still stiff but better than yesterday. Will get it lubed and shift it back and forth. I thought the problem might be where the shaft goes into the trans, boy I was fretting having to open the trans to fix it.
