Anybody have any experience using "Al's Liner", a spray on Urethane/Acrylic Coating System for about $165? I'm thinking of trying it for the dump bed of a Kubota RTV instead of using a dealer.

I would think you could have a rhino or linex liner for a RTV done for less than $165. My full size truck bed was only $375 with a lifetime warranty.

I'm sad to say that I dont have an 'experience' with Al's yet, but i have done a boat load of research on Cumminsforum.com and it is waht i'll be using when i reline my long bed cummins, rocker panels, diesel fuel transfer tank, running boards, and a bunch of other stuff around the house. From all my research Wyndham, Al's customers are really happy with the results. I think even if you get cheap and go with odd lots stuff, you want to sand/wire wheel/scuff the paint up real good so the stuff can bond well. I'm assuming you've done a good bit of research already but you can go to cumminsforum.com and search for "al's liner" and see the different textures and results....good luck and show some pictures when you're done.

Not around Harrisonburg/Shenandoah VA are ya?

forgot the $ thing....ebay should sell it for about $100 a gallon, cummins forum will tell you that a Harbor Freight gun...item # 66103: Textured Paint Spray Gun will spray it just fine and they sell it for $25 instead of $50, Cummins Performance Parts sells Als liner for as cheap as $75 per gallon too!

My truck bed was rhino'd too for around $400 but when I wanted my RTV bed done the dealer wanted $350. So I went to rhino and they did it for $350 but they also did my floor pan and front brush guard so I got more for my money. I think the money is in the prep-work and clean up as spraying is quick.

I just did a new utility trailer frame in dupli-color's liner product. I plan to use it on my ladder and front racks I'm currently welding up for the rtv but it's not like the rhino in that it's a bit harder when set. Also, I had I hard time keeping the gun from gumming up even when thinning the product.

I did see that al's product. Please post up your thoughts on it if you end up using it.

I bedlined the door hinges on my Wrangler with Rust-Oleum truck bed coating. My oversized tires were slinging rocks and chipping the paint on them. Have yet to get a chip in the hinges sense I bedlined em. The finish come out great. You could probably do your whole bed for less than 30 bucks.

Thanks. I like it. I have a gallon can that is supposed to be rolled on but may give the spray on a close look. I'll scratch and get it dirty anyway so I'm not needing a $200 job.
Also want to do some on wooden steps to keep them from being so slick in the winter. May try a can of the spray on for that to.

I'll second the Rustoleum. I rolled it on my truck 7 years ago. The truck is never parked inside. It has a few scrapes that could be touched up, but absolutely no chipping or loss of adhesion.

I got half a can left. When you said "steps" I remembered that the step on my Massey is slick when it rains or my boots are wet from walking in rain soaked fields. I know where that half a can is gonna go.

I did the floorboards and steps on the Kubota over an year ago, and I have really enjoyed the extra traction, as well as the durability of the surface from a wear standpoint. The original paint was wearing off quickly. During last winters snowstorms, getting on and off the tractor with wet/snowy boots was safer with the bedliner on the tractor. Here is my initial thread:
