$ DIY Lawn care

Howdy all,

I have about 3/4 acre of lawn to take care of and the former owner had a service doing this ~70 a month.

Being a DIY kind of person I wanted to ask - how many rounds of different chems go down on a lawn and at what times and what are the most cost effective suppliers?

In spring apply preemergent with fertilizer, early fall fertilizer, late fall high nitrogen fertilizer.

Some people recommend treating your lawn based on holidays. Easter, memorial day, 4th of July, labor day and Thanksgiving. These would be fertilization times. As far as the rest of your questions I can not answer.
