I want to install a third function on my L3240. I'm opting for the diverter valve just for ease of installation. My tractor has a cab and installing the true 3rd function looks like a real PITA.
My question is:
I've read that with a regenerative hyd. system a diverter valve will work with double acting cylinders. My kubota's curl up function is normal and the dump function has the regen. and a detent for normal operation. If I use only the regen on the dump function, will the double acting cylinder (for a grapple) need to operate the same as the bucket. In other words, if the bucket cylinder is extending will the grapple cylinder also need to be setup to extend when using that control.
I'd like to have "right" on the control lever be bucket dump, and grapple release, but in that scenario the bucket cylinder is extending and the grapple cylinder is retracting.
I ask because the detent for the "normal" operation is very stiff, I can use it but it requires some force, and when I get it to work my hand slams into the metal bar on the inside of the window.
I appreciate any help or other suggestions.
